I. BACKGROUND Most of buildings, equipments, and infra structures of human life are made of earth resources. It means that earth resources are created for mankind. On the other hand, when there is such mismanagement, earth resources will be also able to generate disaster which can damage living thing and infra structures. The earth resources are very much essential that can influence a national defense and people prosperity of a country. The strength and weakness of such a nation is also can be caused by misuse and mismanagement of mineral resources and disaster mitigation. These need to be concerned by all of the people without any exception including the young generation.

Students of senior high schools are young generation of such a nation those will role and take over as the doer of earth resources management in the future. They need to understand earlier the strong relationship between earth resources and national defense. National defense should not be understood as defense against military attack only, but also involving wider living aspects.

Therefore this kind of thematic Jamboree and Olympic will be act as a good stage to give understanding to the students on earth resources, the origin, existence, uses for human prosperity, threats, opportunities, and the relationship with national defense.

II. AIM AND OBJECTIVES

The aims of the activity:
1. To participate in brainpower development of young generation especially in relation with the earth resources management and conservation

While the objectives are:
1. To add knowledge of the students in relation with earth resources that is not only able of giving people prosperity but also having a strong relationship with the survival of the nation.
2. To offer a forum for experience exchange, knowledge enhancement, and idea enrichment, related to the use of mineral and energy resources, earth science – technology, natural disaster for best achievement students.
3. To invite earth experts and professionals that deal with earth resources management to directly share their experience and knowledge to the students.
4. To give contributions to the Department of National Education concerning the importance of earth science to be given in the high school level of education.

The official language used in all activities of the event is English, or National Language with English translation.

The participants are contingents which consist of senior high school students from Indonesia regions and International, accompanied by their supervisor. A contingent comprises of 5 students, and 1 supervisor.
